Privacy Policy
Effective November 1, 2026
This policy explains what information the Pemoney app ("Pemoney", "we", "us") collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Pemoney is developed by an independent developer. If you have questions, email pemoneyinc@gmail.com.
Information we collect
- Account information. Your email address, and your name if you sign in with Google. We use Firebase Authentication (Google) to manage sign-in. We never see your Google password.
- Financial information from your banks. When you connect a bank, card or loan account, our service provider Plaid retrieves, with your permission: account names, types and the last digits of account numbers, balances, and transactions (date, amount, description, merchant, category). We do not receive or store your online banking username or password; you enter those directly with Plaid or your bank. Our access is read-only: Pemoney cannot move money.
- Information you add. Transactions you log by hand, notes, categories and category choices, budgets, report views, split transactions, receipt photos you attach, account nicknames, and your app settings.
- Subscription information. If you subscribe, Google Play tells us your subscription status (for example plan, renewal and expiry dates) and a purchase token. Payment card details are handled by Google Play; we never receive them.
- No usage tracking. Pemoney doesn't use analytics or advertising SDKs and doesn't track how you use the app. If the app crashes, Google Play may send us an anonymous crash report (device model, Android version, app version and the error) if you allow it in your phone's settings; it doesn't include your financial data.
On-device processing
Some features, such as suggesting a category for a transaction or detecting recurring charges, run entirely on your phone, including with on-device AI where your phone supports it. That processing doesn't send your transactions to us or to anyone else.
How we use information
- To provide the app: show your accounts and transactions, keep them in sync across your devices, and power budgets, reports, reminders and other features.
- To manage your subscription and access to paid features.
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and fix bugs.
- To communicate with you about your account or when you contact support.
We do not sell your personal information, we do not use your financial data for advertising, and Pemoney does not show ads.
Who we share information with
We share information only with service providers that help us run Pemoney, and only as needed for that purpose:
- Plaid Inc., to connect to your financial institutions. Plaid's handling of your data is described in the Plaid End User Privacy Policy.
- Google (Firebase and Google Cloud), which hosts our database, file storage and servers and provides sign-in; and Google Play, which processes subscriptions and provides crash reports.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of our users or others, or as part of a merger or sale of the app (in which case this policy would continue to apply to your information).
How long we keep information
- While you have an account, we keep your data so the app works.
- If your subscription ends (or is refunded), we stop retrieving new transactions right away and disconnect your banks at the end of that month. Your existing data is kept so you can come back to it. If you don't resubscribe, your banking data, hand-logged transactions and receipt photos are deleted 24 months after the subscription ended.
- Items you delete in the app are removed from our servers within about 30 days.
- When you delete your account, all of your data is deleted (see below).
- Backups. To recover from mistakes, outages or security problems (for example, someone else getting into your account), we keep backup copies of our database for up to 8 weeks, and deleted receipt photos for 30 days. Data you delete, including a deleted account's data, stays in these backups until they expire, at most about 60 days after it's removed from our servers. Only we can access the backups, and we use them only for recovery, such as restoring your data at your request after a security problem.
Deleting your data
You can delete your account and all of its data at any time in the app: Settings → Delete account. This disconnects your banks, deletes your accounts, transactions, notes, receipt photos, settings and sign-in account, and cancels auto-renewal of a Google Play subscription. Copies in our backups expire within about 60 days. If you can't use the app, see Delete your account. You can also remove a single bank connection in the app at any time.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and stored with Google Cloud, which encrypts data at rest. Your bank access tokens are kept on our servers only and are never sent to the app. Access to your data is limited to your own signed-in account. You can also turn on App lock to require your fingerprint, face or phone PIN to open Pemoney. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.
Your choices and rights
You can view and edit your information in the app, disconnect banks, and delete your account. Depending on where you live (for example California), you may have rights to know what personal information we have about you, to get a copy, to correct it, and to have it deleted. To make a request, email pemoneyinc@gmail.com. We won't treat you differently for using these rights.
Children
Pemoney is not directed to children and is intended for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Where data is processed
Pemoney is offered in the United States, and your information is processed and stored in the United States.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We'll change the effective date above and, for significant changes, let you know in the app.
